Asianet Modem Settings for connecting your WIFI Router

Recently I got a new internet connection from Asianet. I had three modem with me. Inspite having three modem, the sales executive forced to buy another wifi router stating that it is the best router with highspeed connectivity.

Once i got the router, i realized it was nothing but a basic 150 router which I had with me from Intex and Lynksys. Since i didnt had lynksys handy i decided to configure Intex for my usage. I called up customer care for setup support. All they gave me is two ip address which they themselves what is that for. Now I was in a fix and all i have is two ip which I am also not sure what it is for.

I compared their Router with my router configuration one by one. Settings where almost similar other than the DNS server was pointing to Google IP as default. Then i realized the ip which they provided was nothing but DNS ip's. I changed the ip, but still i was not able to connect. Then was the tricky part which i took some time realize. In wired connection, everything works fine and while connected to wifi it was not working.

To setup XBox live with extra login based page, i read in website about MAC address cloning. When i tried cloning the mac address it took my pc mac address which was not the right thing. I realized that the ISP was granding permission based on the wifi router mac which is registered to them. I copied the existing wifi routers mac to the new wifi router. Voila!! I can see the login page . I have briefed the settings below.

Now the setup is listed below:

1) Reset your Router
2) Select DHCP and Dynamic IP setting
3) Set DNS server to
           202.88.255.3
           202.88.255.5
4) Copy the mac which is working (If you are connected to you wired Laptop - You can use Clone Mac. Best thing is to register your mac with Asianet)
5) Save and Reboot
